Sunflower field is only open to the public during advertised days/times.
Please follow signs along Broad Street, Bemboka for directions.
Wear enclosed and sturdy shoes. It is a paddock with uneven ground and trip hazards.
Kids must be accompanied by adults at all times (electric fences and bodies of water surround field).
BYO secateurs/scissors and bucket to take flowers home
There will be bees, insects, spiders and potentially snakes (although we have not sighted a snake all season).
Dogs are welcome on a leash (please pick up after them!). It is a working farm and there are livestock.
There is limited shade and seating.
No toilets on site. Closest toilet is on the corner of Broad Street & Snowy Mountain Hwy (800m away).
Narrow dirt road when entering farm. Please drive slowly and look out for children. There is a designated car park adjacent to the field.

How our sunflower field came to be…
Ryefield Hops is a family-run hop farm in the Bega Valley that uses sustainable, regenerative practices. During the Black Summer bushfires, their hops failed to grow, but a multispecies seed mix unexpectedly produced a full field of sunflowers.
Seeing beauty in a difficult time, the farm opened the sunflower field to the community, offering a sense of hope and healing after the devastation of the fires. The experience was so meaningful that locals encouraged it to become an annual event.
Now, Ryefield Hops intentionally sow a dedicated sunflower field each year and invite visitors to wander through and pick their own flowers, creating a joyful and uplifting community tradition.
When can I visit?
2026 season is nearly complete. Last open day is Monday 27th April (Public Holiday)!!

What is the price?
$5 ENTRY FEE (kids under 5 are free)
Sunflowers can be picked and taken home for $4 per stem.
Where do we go?
Broad Street, Bemboka.
The farm gate is less than 1km from the highway. We will put a sign at Broad Street on open days and you can follow the sunflower signs towards the farm.
Bemboka is 30 minutes from Bega, 40 minutes from Merimbula, 1 hour from Cooma and Eden
What do I bring?
*Enclosed shoes (there is uneven ground)
*Secateurs
*Camera
*Picnic mat. Limited chairs and tables are available.
Can I buy food or water there?
Caterers will be in the field on select days, which will be announced soon.
A small selection of snack food will be available. You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy beside the sunflower field.
A selection of super fresh craft beer will be available to drink on site from Five Barrel Brewery in Wollongong using hops that are grown on site. (LIQT000000522).
Cold water, poppers and soft drinks also available.
Can I pay by card?
You can pay by cash or card.
Small merchant fee applies to card sales.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are more than welcome but please bring a lead and pick up after them.
There is livestock on the property so please keep your dogs with you at all times.
What is the road like?
The farm driveway is a well maintained dirt road. Some parts are quite narrow and there is also a narrow bridge to drive over.
PLEASE DRIVE SLOW and give way to others cars when required.
Is there a toilet at the farm?
NO, although there is a public toilet on the corner of Broad Street as you turn off the highway.
If required, please use these amenities before arriving at the farm.
