If you’re a homebrewer and keen on using your own hops in your brews - this is the workshop for you!

The workshop will be held on farm at Ryefield Hops, Bemboka.

You will leave with a few crowns (hop plants) to plant in our own backyard and the knowledge about how to grow them. You’ll also go home with a complete ‘homebrew kit’ complete with our hop pellets, Voyager Craft Malt, Mogwai Labs yeast and a custom recipe.

This workshop at Ryefield Hops is aimed for those keen to start growing hops in their backyard or for those eager to learn more. You will walk away with knowledge about where to plant your hops, how to care for them during the growing season and how to process and store your hops at home. You'll also get an in-depth tour of our field and processing shed to see how hops are grown on a commercial scale.

It will be a 4 hour masterclass and will include lunch and refreshments.

You can start brewing with your own harvest!
You will be given two customised kits unique to those attending the workshop:
HOP GROWING KIT consisting of two hop crowns ready to plant for 2024/25 season and compostable string.
HOMEBREW KIT WITH RECIPE including Ryefield Hop pellets, Voyager Craft Malt, Mogwai Labs Yeast and a customised recipe. You will also be able to taste beer made with the same recipe brewed by Jervis Bay Brewing - made exclusively for the workshop so you can compare a commercial brew with the exact recipe you will be brewing at home!

You will surrounded by likeminded individuals keen to learn about a core ingredient in beer. You’ll also be part of an exclusive experience where you get to brew the exact recipe as a commercial brewer. You’ll be given all the quality ingredients to take home and brew without delay. You’ll get to taste the exclusive brew at the workshop and will be given the opportunity to take some home with you.

Ryefield Hops pride themselves on producing sustainable hops grown using regenerative agriculture principles. We’ll touch on the differences between this and conventional farming throughout the workshop so you can decide what methods you wish to adopt at home or on your farm. You’ll take home two hop crowns ready to start growing with your newfound knowledge.
